Wireless broadband is an internet service not unlike DSL or Cable, except it does not rely on wires and cables coming from the poles to your house. Wireless broadband is a radio signal that travels through the air. We install a radio unit on your house, similar to a satellite dish, that points towards one of our numerous tower locations.. run a small cable inside the house.. plug that cable into your PC or router and viola.. high speed internet.

This technology is perfect if you live outside the reach of DSL or Cable, if you don't want a landline phone or if you prefer satellite television service. There is no need to rely on the phone company or the cable company for broadband internet service.  Aroostook Internet doesn't stop there.  Our wireless internet is served through one, security enabled, firewalled hub.  There is no worry of fraudulent connections with our highly secure service.

Standard 2.4 GHz Service

Our 2.4 GHz wireless broadband is our standard and most sought after internet service. This service is widely available across Northern Maine and can reach you – no wires attached. This 2.4 GHz equipment utilizes directional, line of site technology which allows us to simply point our equipment at our many different tower locations and broadcast the internet directly to your house. For prices starting at $39.95* you will receive 1 Mbps download speed and 256 Kbps up-load speed. Compare that to dial-up, and you will be cruising the internet at lightning speed!

New 900 MHz Technology!

Aroostook Internet is now offering an additional wireless service to help cover those hard to reach areas. If you are currently unable to receive our service with our standard equipment, you now have the option for 900 MHz equipment. The new 900 MHz technology utilizes a longer wavelength to help lower the need for "line of site." If you are a customer that lives in a wooded, hilly, rural area - or - have recently been told our service is not available to you; give us a call to set up a site survey to see if our new technology is right for you! If the 900 MHz service is, in fact, available to you – the price still starts at just $39.95** a month!
