A history of quality care and service.

Leisure Gardens was built in 1986, in response to the need for comfortable housing for people wishing to maintain their independence but wanting medical assistance conveniently available. Two expansions, in 1988 and 1991, brought that facility to its current 40-unit size.

In 1995, we added another complex, Leisure Village, with 40 additional luxurious apartments and suites.

Leisure Gardens and Leisure Village is a residential complex located at 4 Dewberry Drive, and 6 Dewberry Drive, Presque Isle, Maine. The facility is attached to the Presque Isle Nursing Home, which in turn is connected by corridor to A. R. Gould Hospital division of The Aroostook Medical Center. These facilities are part of a health care campus which includes a pharmacy with 24-hour delivery service and several nearby physicians' offices.

The complex is less than a mile from downtown Presque Isle and offers easy access to all shopping, restaurants, entertainment and the airport.

Apartment Size---just what you need.

Leisure Gardens and Leisure Village have 80 units, offering you a choice of one-bedroom, two-bedroom or studio apartments. Each apartment has a complete kitchen, bath, wall-to-wall carpeting in living and bedroom areas, with washer and dryer provided in the one- and two-bedroom apartments.

Convenient and free laundry facilities are also provided for studio apartments.

All apartments are supplied with free cable service, hot water, three telephone jacks and a two-unit (one fixed, one remote) 24-hour medical emergency call system.

Each apartment is available furnished or unfurnished, giving you the opportunity to retain important personal items for your continued enjoyment.

Physical amenities add to your comfort.

Our grounds feature well-manicured lawns and inviting gardens planted with shrubs and colorful blooming plants. Leisure Gardens residents enjoy strolling through the grounds on warm, balmy days, and are able to appreciate their beauty throughout the growing season.

Residents have ample parking space handy to their lodging, and we provide them with a heater plug which can be activated from a switch inside each apartment.

Heated garage space is also available at the Leisure Village Complex.

Comfortably furnished and relaxing common areas are available for socializing with other residents or guests. Featuring well-designed furnishings with soothing colors, the public living and dining rooms are enjoyed by our residents and their guests.

The peace of mind from knowing you're protected and safe is made possible by sprinklers, smoke alarms, and a reliable security system.

Services that please.

Your monthly rental fee covers additional amenities at Leisure Gardens, including regularly scheduled social and recreational activities, like our popular sightseeing bus trips.

Many other services are available on a fee-for-service basis through Presque Isle Home Care. These include a beauty and barber shop, three daily nutritionally balanced meals, housekeeping services, skilled nursing care, medication supervision and personal care assistance.
