FROM THE EAST

Dear Brethren,

As you remember in our ceremony, a lodge is certain number of brethren assembled….  Well that number has been in decline for some time due to several factors.  The aging of our Fraternity causes us to lose valuable members, on average this is 8 to 10 every year.   Due to the job market, or lack there of, several members move from our area and some affiliate with lodges in their new area.  We have 4 to 5 brothers who just decide to take a demit and leave the lodge for personal reasons.  Because of these realities we lose from 10 to 20 members each year.  This is a trend that left unchecked will continually erode the effectiveness of our lodge.  We all will see it in increased dues, and difficulty in finding new officers.  As Trinity Lodge stands today we are in a good financial position and are raising enough new brothers to keep us nearly flat on our member numbers.  I just want to reinforce that it is vitally important that we have your help as I stated last month to find and introduce new candidates to our great Fraternity.

In Brotherhood,

Craig R Green, WM
