We are located in Oakfield Maine, use Exit 286,
formerly exit 60 off Interstate 95. Our
Museum is dedicated to the early years of Railroad
Transportation. Besides seeing the historic wood frame
station building, you can be intrigued
by hundreds of photographs- some of which are
over a century old. There are also vintage signs
and advertising pieces, signal lanterns, original railroad maps,
telegraph equipment, newspapers, a Hand Car and a Motor Car, restored mail
carts, the
C-66 caboose, and a weathervane that
came from the top of the old water tower that was demolished in
1982. We even have a small scale model of our Railroad Station!
Our museum is staffed by volunteers. Don't be
surprised if you meet a retired BAR railroader!
